I'm happy to welcome Katie Porter to the blog. This is the co-writing team formed by authors Lorelie Brown and Carrie Lofty. Together they write Erotic Romance, and they are here today to tell us more about their new book, Inside Bet.

Heather’s Mysterious Tattoo
By Katie Porter

Heather from Inside Bet is pretty straight laced. She’s an accountant, and has lived a very straight and narrow sort of life for more than a decade. She dresses conservatively and drives a six-year-old Camry. That’s what makes her happy—and helps her live down some pretty serious mistakes in her past. But that doesn’t mean she’s absolutely locked down.

Heather’s got a tattoo. It’s special to her, carefully chosen to mark a new epoch in her life. But Jon is surprised exactly how much he likes it:

He turned her body and traced the beautifully worked vine. The ink wound its way up to where it teased beneath the sharp edge of her shoulder blade. His fascination with it was…surprising. Maybe it was the image of Heather patiently draped over the tattooist’s chair for hours, biting her lip against the sting. Maybe it was the perfectly fashioned hourglass shape it adorned. He wanted to spend hours learning every detail.
     “What does it say?”
She looked over her shoulder. A light pink blush stained her skin. “Things without remedy should be without regard: what’s done is done.”
“Lady Macbeth? So, Ms. Morris has a tragic side.”
She shrugged as if it meant nothing to her, but her hands covered his once again. “It’s really more about ignoring tragedy.”
“Ignoring? Funny. I hear someone trying very hard to forget.” Starting at the deep curve of her hip, he licked up the slender vine. Along the way he paused to nip softly at a bud or two. Or five. “And the flowers?”
     “Morning glories.”

Morning glories is a flower with blooms that open in the morning and die by afternoon. Fleeting. Gone quickly. But the plant also creates new blooms every single day. New chances and new opportunities as love flourishes again and again. Heather has spent the years since her last, biggest mistake making up for them and trying to move on at the same time.

Lucky for her, Jon doesn’t believe in mistakes. He believes in choices. And the rich, playboy pilot with a sexy as hell car choosing Heather is one of the most exciting things to happen to her.  In a good way.

Up next for Katie Porter, the co-writing team of Carrie Lofty and Lorelie Brown:

Now that both RT BookReviews 4½ Star Top Picks DOUBLE DOWN and INSIDE BET have been released, we're looking forward to the September 25th arrival of HOLD 'EM , featuring wild child Leah and a surprising reunion with a fellow pilot. The final two installments of the "Vegas Top Guns" series will follow in 2013.

November brings the m/m Christmas-themed CAME UPON A MIDNIGHT CLEAR, and in January, LEAD AND FOLLOW will launch the five-part “Club Devant” series of erotic multi-partner romances set in a hot New York City burlesque club.

  1. Congrats on the new release. Inside Bet sounds fantastic. Can't wait to read it. I don't have a tattoo yet, but I've always wanted something with stars and flowers.

  2. Congrats on the new release. The book sounds great. This is a new author for me and always looking for new authors to check out.
I do not have a tattoo. I would love to get one, but scared of needles and pain. I would do something with my kids names or birthdates. Footprints on then their dates would be a cool tattoo.
    Thanks for the giveaway.

    1. Ooh, I like the footprints idea! But yeah, a fear I needles means you'll be stuck with my girls' versions of tattoos: the non-washable markers I accidentally bought. *sigh*

  3. I loved Double Down and can't wait to read Inside Bet.
I've always wanted a tattoo that represents my husband and 2 boys, but I haven't decided exactly what I want yet. Thank you!

  4. The books sound very interesting and they will definetly be added to my shelf!

I already have a tattoo on my lower back of a butterfly in flight flanked by a tribal design. I am looking into getting another know of the infinity symbol with the initials of my three girls. I haven't seen any designs yet that I've liked enough to commit. Mostly because I can't figure out how to arrange the initials. I've tried a couple of ways, but they are: S, A, G. Most designers have put S.A.G. or G.A.S. at the bottom or at the top. They don't see a problem with it. But I really do not want SAG or GAS tattooed anywhere on my body. You see my dilemma!

  6. I have actually thought about this a lot. And I have not been able to decide, which is the primary reason I do not have one. I have absolutely no idea what I would get.

  7. Hi everyone,

Sorry I can't reply to everyone individually. The "reply" button beneath your comments stopped working. Could be that my connection here in Starbucks is sketchy. Could be gremlins. You never can tell about gremlins.

Thanks so much for your enthusiasm and creative ideas. I have ideas about tattoos, but my husband really doesn't like them. We'll see how persuasive I can be over the next few years...

I hope you enjoy INSIDE BET and the rest of the "Vegas Top Guns" series!

    1. Oh noes! I think the button works for me but Blogger always does stuff like this, I think it hates me. Sorry it's not working, but thanks for stopping by!

And thanks to everyone else for the great comments, I would love to get a tattoo but choosing the right design is so difficult.

Good luck with the giveaway, there's still chance to win!

Blogger likes to eat comments, so I suggest copying it before hitting "publish" just in case it doesn't go through the first time. This is a pain, I know, but it's the only solution/prevision I can think of, and it will save you the frustration of losing a comment. Also, thanks for visiting!
