Robb’s books, then I won’t hold it against you that you have fallen behind on the Guardians series…

I started reading historical romances, and I only read that. Then I discovered contemporaries, and PNR, and UF, and m/m… Now my TBR pile is so ginormous that I can’t even see the top and I haven’t read a historical romance in months!!! At least we know that it will take us longer to run out of books!

Shinn’s story was very good. I haven’t read anything by her but I knew about her books and after reading this novella I’m definitely reading more!Briehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01694232807189281284noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4861127753744077469.post-58126845573101444902011-10-18T11:33:28.903-04:002011-10-18T11:33:28.903-04:00Aw, glad I made your day. :)

Sinn would be a new author for me, but that's one of the charms of anthologies--discovering new authors!

I started Meljean's Guardians series way back in 2007, but have sadly fallen behind. Demon Night was the last one I read, but I have all the others on my shelf! Ugh--story of my life is trying to catch up with my favorite authors. I used to ONLY read paranormal romance, urban fantasy and YA, but somewhere along the line I expanded my genres to include just about EVERYTHING and now there's REALLY no time to read it all. Boo. :(Christinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00420773211895134710noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4861127753744077469.post-88158925063586669112011-10-18T11:22:48.227-04:002011-10-18T11:22:48.227-04:00What!?!?! The good news is that at least I won’t have to fight you for Michael’s love (because obviously he’s real and secretly in love with me…).

I do get what you mean though, he comes across as inhuman and I can see why some people might find it hard to see him as a hero, but I also think that the reason why Brook is putting him through the ringer is so that we can see him vulnerable and more human.Briehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01694232807189281284noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4861127753744077469.post-59916582912043645652011-10-18T10:43:23.472-04:002011-10-18T10:43:23.472-04:00LOL, actually, no ^_^; I don't know, I'm a...LOL, actually, no ^_^; I don't know, I'm a really strange readers. There are some characters in series that I block... and Micheal is one of them. Perhaps because in my mind, he comes off as, well, so old! LOL. But since this is going to be the last book of the series, I'm definitively going to get it.nathhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02626894830238717124noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4861127753744077469.post-4884456728603731192011-10-17T20:13:56.932-04:002011-10-17T20:13:56.932-04:00Hi Mandi!

The hero is such an animal (in a good/bad way), and there are a couple of secondary characters that are to die for, it was love at first sight for me! LOLBriehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01694232807189281284noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4861127753744077469.post-42386272269744738992011-10-17T19:54:23.667-04:002011-10-17T19:54:23.667-04:00I REALLY want to read this for the Andrews story -...I REALLY want to read this for the Andrews story - and Singh..but I'm very intrigued for the Andrews story....I might have to get this one.Mandihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05164981880837468084noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4861127753744077469.post-46192420307687688102011-10-17T18:56:49.605-04:002011-10-17T18:56:49.605-04:00Hello again nath!

Ohhhh!!! You need to come back!!! I keep looking for more fans of this series but they are nowhere to be found! Aren’t you dying to read Michael’s book!?!?!?! I better stop talking about this because once I get on my crazy fan-girl mode I can’t stop!

I can definitely see how Andrew’s novella might not be for everyone, as I said is a love it or hate it type of story. I think it could have been much better in a longer book and the world building was a bit awkwardly explained, but I did love it!

And you’re right, it was good to see a hero that was strong but not a dominating alpha and that could appreciate the heroine’s strengths. I really enjoyed this anthology and hopefully we get more from these authors soon!

Thank you for your comment!Briehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01694232807189281284noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4861127753744077469.post-60795010700414543392011-10-17T18:41:33.112-04:002011-10-17T18:41:33.112-04:00Read this one not too long ago. I think her character is a nice change of pace for this series.

I seems to be in the minority of people that didn't care that much for Alphas: Origins. I just had a lot of difficulty getting into it.

I liked Ascension. I thought it was different and it does show how the Guardians can be vulnerable.nathhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02626894830238717124noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4861127753744077469.post-58386568775872194292011-10-17T14:56:19.688-04:002011-10-17T14:56:19.688-04:00Oh Christine, you just made my day! I was depressed because I was dying to talk about this book!!!

You’re absolutely right, this anthology seems to have a variety of responses, which comes to probe that every reader is different. My favorite was Ilona Andrews’ but I keep reading reviews that say how awful and violet it is, and then my least favorite was Nalini Singh’s but everyone else seems to love it! But honestly, if you are a fan of the authors you should go for it because the quality is amazing regardless of the different opinions!

Thank you for stopping by!Briehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01694232807189281284noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4861127753744077469.post-64399779612656239982011-10-17T14:40:58.307-04:002011-10-17T14:40:58.307-04:00Great review, Brie. I've been reading a lot of reviews of this anthology in the last week or two and finding it so interesting how varied everyone's most and least favorite stories are. I'll be buying this one soon. :)Christinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00420773211895134710noreply@blogger.com
