I think it was actually a good decision for Travis to stop football if he didn't see a future in it. Obviously, it would have been good if he had a goal after stopping ^_^; So how old is Travis when the book start?nathhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02626894830238717124noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4861127753744077469.post-25737466228631751102012-06-21T10:22:32.257-04:002012-06-21T10:22:32.257-04:00That's why I put the spoiler, because I figure...That's why I put the spoiler, because I figured most wouldn't be happy to be caught by surprise. I didn't like it, but I wasn't bothered by it and it was a good way to portray how damaged he was. Also helps that the scene wasn't detailed. You din't like the book, then?Briehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01694232807189281284noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4861127753744077469.post-13190773506086451672012-06-20T23:51:46.982-04:002012-06-20T23:51:46.982-04:00I was super bothered by your spoiler-there are thi...I was super bothered by your spoiler-there are things I just can't tolerate in my MCs and that would be one of them. I also wanted a lot more about Travis' relationship with his family. I know the book is short but that was the part I thought needed more treatment. The Insouciant Sophisticatehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03934853089105345052noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4861127753744077469.post-18816314660980137232012-06-20T08:51:57.064-04:002012-06-20T08:51:57.064-04:00You're right about the ending -- it was rushed...You're right about the ending -- it was rushed and Travis' HEA is definitively a work in progress. That final letter that works as an epilogue gives us some insight but I also wanted to see it instead of being told. I did appreciate that he was talking about his future with Hailey in somewhat uncertain terms, a bit unsure of how the long distance relationship was going to work, I really liked that, more realistic and logic.Briehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01694232807189281284noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4861127753744077469.post-89031594933658378252012-06-20T08:41:10.756-04:002012-06-20T08:41:10.756-04:00I agree with everything you said. I didn't miss the shallow characterization of the father. I really wanted to see more unspooling at the back end. I felt like Travis was just starting to find himself and would have liked to have seen more of his recovery to be sure of it.Janehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14554111806652925496noreply@blogger.com
